Todd Nelson likes to make business owners’ dreams come true and that’s exactly what he does as North American Banking Company’s senior vice president of Business Banking.

Before joining North American Banking Company, Todd was senior vice president/banking practice leader at Northern Trust, where he managed the private and commercial banking practice of its Minnesota office and a $145-million loan portfolio. He also held leadership positions at several other local banks, including U.S. Bank, where he spent 16 years, most of them working with high net-worth individuals and their businesses.

A third-generation University of Minnesota graduate (recently joined by the fourth generation—his daughter), Todd earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University’s Carlson School of Management. He then went on to earn an MBA from the Drucker Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University in California, where he studied with management guru Peter Drucker.

A Chartered Financial Analyst (Level I), Todd earned several licenses from the National Association of Securities Dealers, including Series 7, 27, 63, and 65.

A lifelong music-lover, Todd was principal trumpet in the University of Minnesota’s concert band and has sung in various local choirs. He’s also an automobile enthusiast who enjoys reading, downhill skiing, and spending time with his family, which includes his wife, son, and four daughters.
