Crosslake Community School
North Amercian Banking, along with other financial partners, helped finance new building
September 29, 2018 marked the ribbon cutting and official unveiling of the new Crosslake Community School in Crosslake, MN. The school opened in 2000 as a K-8 program with 50 students housed at nearby Camp Knutson for its first two years. Since then, the school has grown to over 200 students enrolled in the K-8 program and online high school. The school had been operating out of three separate buildings and needed a new facility to accommodate students.
North American Banking Company, along with First National Bank of the North, Frandsen Bank & Trust and Black Ridge Bank, financed the new building for the charter school. We are proud to work with these partners and the Lakes Area Kid Enrichment (LAKES) Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 2016 as a 501(c)(3) with the purpose of building and maintaining a facility for the Crosslake Community School.
Crosslake Community School is a public charter school with an environmental education focused curriculum. At each grade level, they focus on building awareness of what students can do in their daily lives to be responsible environmental stewards. The school and new facility also serve the need for a local school in the Crosslake area, with the closest public school in the area located in Pequot Lakes, 17 miles away.
