Ben Loesel was born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance with an emphasis on financial planning from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. In the 20 years since he graduated, Ben has held a variety of positions in the financial services industry, beginning with many in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, where he sold insurance and other financial products for John Hancock and mutual funds for Strong Investments.
Eager to learn more about business, he joined Corporate Valuation Advisors where he performed business valuations for mergers and acquisitions. Then, in 2005, he made the switch to banking by joining US Bank as a commercial loan underwriter. The job was a great fit—Ben was quickly promoted to team leader and made responsible for credits in excess of $1 million.
Ben loved his job but realized that big banks weren’t always the best banks, so he joined a small community bank in Hugo, MN. He worked there for two years. Then, in 2011, he made the move to North American Banking Company, a community bank he’s proud to represent.
Ever interested in learning and improving his ability to help business owners succeed, he returned to school and in 2016 was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Minnesota.
A one-time professional poker player (also a perfect fit for someone who loves numbers and money), Ben enjoys golfing in the summer and watching Packer football (he’s a lifelong Wisconsite) in the winter. However, both activities pale in comparison to spending time with his wife Carrie and their young son Jack.
Ben is also an active member of the Woodbury chapter of Business Network International, where he makes frequent presentations to help business owners further their financial success.
